News & Such

stiles.jpgFamously dubbed “the thinking teenager’s movie goddess”, the former teen actress Julia Stiles is now all grown up and fully in control of her career.

At 26, she refuses to compromise her integrity, even if it means losing out on roles to actresses more willing to flaunt their flesh. “It’s not that I’m prudish. It’s just that I don’t really want to go to work and take off my clothes,” says Stiles, explaining why she will never compete with Hollywood’s sexy young stars.

Co-starring with Matt Damon in The Bourne Ultimatum, the last of the Bourne trilogy, the actress commends the film’s intelligent style. Spy movies for grown-ups, the Bourne films have never required their actresses to run around in bikinis a la Bond.

The Raving trailer is available on http://raving.elle.com/

“Written and Directed by Julia Raving stars Zooey Deschanel (Failure to Launch, All The Real Girls, Elf) and Bill Irwin (Lady in the Water, The Manchurian Candidate). Stiles’ film explores the emotional connection between a bright, rebellious young woman and a lonely, disassociated older man after a chance encounter on a New York street corner. “I wanted to focus on characters not involved in the fashion world, to illustrate how the seemingly simple act of getting dressed shapes one’s identity” said Stiles. “I had been imagining this story for awhile, but never in a million years thought I’d be directing. I am incredibly honored to have been given my first opportunity by ELLE.” ”

Raving will premiere on the Sundance Channel on Tuesday, May 8 at 8h30 PM

Thanks Carson Krislov for the news!

First, thanks everyone for the kind comments on the site re-opening! I really appreciate it *hugs*

slashfilm.com has two pictures from The Bourne Ultimatum, no pictures of Julia yet, but they can’t take too long!

Here is what they say on the site:

“Matt Damon is back again for the third film in the Bourne Identity series which hits theaters on August 3rd 2007. It is expected that The Bourne Ultimatum will have a completely different plot from Robert Ludlum’s bestselling novel. The movie co-stars Joan Allen, Paddy Considine, Edgar Ramirez, Julia Stiles, and David Strathairn.

You have to love the Bourne series as it brings intelligence back to the Spy film, but at the same time holds no bunches in terms of action.

The latest installment follows Bourne’s journey to Madrid, Moscow, and Paris to NYC and Tangier to hunt down his past in order to find a future, all the while trying to outmaneuver the scores of federal officers, Interpol agents, and police officers.”
